RENDITA
RENDITA is a publicly funded R&D project developing an AI-powered software platform to support the operation, maintenance, and strategic planning of multi-generation energy systems (MGS). By combining Digital Twin technology, Grey Models, and advanced optimization algorithms, RENDITA equips energy system operators with the tools to make smarter, faster, and more sustainable decisions.

Impacts
- Improve efficiency, safety, and reliability of energy systems through AI-driven O&M.
- Enhance forecasting accuracy for both energy production and demand.
- Increase the share of renewable energy within complex multi-generation systems.
- Enable new business models for energy flexibility and ancillary service markets.
- Reduce energy costs and consumption for commercial and industrial end-users.
- Support Italy's PNIEC targets through smarter renewable integration.

How it works
Operational efficiency
Minimise OPEX and energy losses through AI-driven balancing of energy vectors across generation, storage, and consumption assets.
Renewable integration
Maximise the contribution of intermittent renewable sources by forecasting production and intelligently managing storage and flexible loads to eliminate curtailment.
Predictive maintenance
Deploy PHM algorithms to detect, diagnose, and anticipate component failures — enabling maintenance decisions that reduce downtime and extend asset life.
Strategic infrastructure planning
Enable what-if simulations to support investment decisions, technology integration, and scenario planning for energy infrastructure evolution.
End-user consumption optimisation
Use smart meter data and AI pipelines to identify inefficiencies in commercial and industrial buildings, providing actionable corrective measures at scale.
